Hi Jane
Good to hear from you, as Geraldine says it’s really not surprising that you’re anxious when you go for your mammogram. I’d like to reassure you that although mix-ups with case notes do happen, all staff take annual training in what the NHS calls ‘Information Governance’; this is training in how to spot mistakes and correct them, and more…[Read more]

Hi Jane. I think it’s understandable after what you’ve been through that worries come flooding back when you have to attend for your annual mammogram. The mammographer will have checked everything -if you gave the wrong date of birth she would query it with you as she would have your date of birth written down. Deodorants and creams won’t…[Read more]

Hello
I’m posting this on behalf of a service user who is struggling to post. She’s asked me to post this for her,
“Yesterday I went for my annual Mammogram, I was diagnosed with bi-lateral breast cancer five years ago and treatment was surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, herceptin and Letrozole.
Everytime I go back to hospital all the fears…[Read more] -

There are a lot of such companies around – not very good if we can’t be confidence that the student has achieved the level of competence for themselves. Let’s hope Marya doesn’t need a mammogram from someone who has achieved their qualifications in such a way!!

Hi Marya, just a quick question. I see that you’ve used the forum, thank you, and I’ve clicked on the link – is this an essay writing service, designed so that the student doesn’t need to actually write the essay themselves?

Yes you can! There is a waiting area where husbands/ friends/relatives can wait for the person being screened.

Hi @jessicapatel123, Have you found the WoMMeN hub useful? Could there be any additional info added to the WoMMeN hub? Hope you found it useful. -

Hi Liz!! Lovely to hear from you. So glad your Meds are proving a better option and I’m sure other women hearing this will find it very useful for discussions with their own oncologists.

Thank you!! We are getting very excited about the awards ceremony: thoughts have turned to clothes and shoes, and someone suggested that we should all appear with big WOMMeN badges on our tops, haha!
Thanks also for letting us know how treatment is going for you – I find any information like this valuable, so that I can follow any medical…[Read more]

That’s another good idea – and Julie, yes, has anyone ever collected this sort of thing together and put it ‘out there’?
If not, great time to maybe do so – but if people who had used them gave their opinion too and that was included, even better?

To be honest, we do it already to a certain extent. Referring ladies back to GP if ongoing concern. Be it breast or other health issues, we are easier for some to open up to. Hearing us signposting them can be empowering for them to take the next step. Interesting challenge Julie, more leaflets and resources could encourage AHP to do this
