I screened a woman today for the first time who was terrified because of tales of pain and fainting from other women. It makes me so cross that, after over 24 years, women are still doing this to others and may well have stopped one coming for screening who could be treated successfully. This particular woman went away with a completely different view and vowed to spread the word!
It’s a subject very close to my heart and I hope this hub/forum gets ‘out there’ to help dispel these awful tales. I’m going to try and do my bit!
So True Tina.
If we are to help increase uptake, women have to have a reasonable experience of breast screening..and I agree totally..we have to ask them to tell their friends especially when the experience is good..or good enough!
